Sheri Long


For almost 40 years Sheri Long has been connected to movement through being a teacher and professional dancer, she is a proud Principal Faculty Member of BASI Pilates and has taught in South Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, Brazil, and the US. Sheri has created workshops targeted towards Specific populations as well as many practical workshops.


She had the honour of presenting workshops at numerous conferences including the Pilates Method Alliance Conference, Learn From the Leaders United States, Learn From the Leaders South Africa, Contrologia Brasil International Conference 1, 2, and 4, February Fitness International Meeting Leon Spain, and The 5th Athens Symposium.

Sheri has had the honour of assisting Rael Isacowitz on many courses including the BASI Mentor and Master Programs. She continues to participate in ongoing education to refine her skills and teaching ability. She brings a commitment and passion for learning, believing the path to excellent teaching is through the experience of an avid student.

Sheri will be presenting the following workshops at LFTL 2020…
The Spine Corrector ‘Compact and Complete’

During this workshop Sheri will explore the many ways to use this amazing piece of equipment for an entire session or class. Sheri will teach the work according to the BASI Block system to show how to keep the flow and balance throughout the session.

Let’s Jump

This workshop is all about the Jump board and how to add more cardiovascular benefits to your session.

Sheri will also be presenting a two day workshop at the Post Conference – 26th & 27th October @ Pilates Studio 64
Pilates for the Mature client

This two-day workshop will address the specific needs of this population, musculoskeletal issues, diseases and other physical changes that are common in the older population. You will learn modifications and many variations to the original BASI repertoire.

This workshop has been approved for 12 PDPs from the PAA.
